PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Synclavir powder contains the semi-synthetic penicillin amoxicillin and the beta-lactamase inhibitor clavulanic acid. Amoxicillin in combination with clavulanic acid has a wide spectrum of antibacterial action, is active against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, including: Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Clostridium spp., Staphylococcus spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Listeria monocytogenes, Bordetella spp., Haemophilus spp., Streptococcus spp., Klebsiella spp., Bacillus anthracis, Campylobacter spp., Corynebacterium spp., including beta-lactamase-producing strains. The mechanism of action of amoxicillin is to disrupt the synthesis of mucopeptide, which is part of the cell wall of microorganisms, by inhibiting the enzymes transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase, which leads to a violation of the osmotic balance and destruction of the bacterial cell. Clavulanic acid, by inhibiting β-lactamase, protects amoxicillin from destruction, which allows it to have a rapid bactericidal effect, including on penicillin-resistant microorganisms. When taken orally, amoxicillin and clavulanic acid are well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and penetrate into the organs and tissues of the animal body. Their maximum concentration in the blood serum is reached 1-1.5 hours after application of the drug and is maintained at the therapeutic level for at least 12 hours. Amoxicillin and clavulanic acid are excreted from the body mainly with urine and partially with bile, mainly in unchanged form. The intake of feed does not significantly affect the absorption of the drug. The drug Synclavir powder, according to the degree of exposure to the body, belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION
The drug is administered orally, to young cattle, small cattle, foals, dogs and cats individually, pigs and poultry individually or in a group manner. Individual regimens of the drug for farm animals and poultry: - for young cattle and small cattle, foals, the drug is used twice a day with drinking water, milk (in an amount of at least 200 ml) or feed in a single dose of 5 g per 250 kg of animal weight (equivalent to 10 amoxicillin / 2.5 mg of clavulanic acid per 1 kg of animal weight), the course of treatment is 3-5 days; - the drug is used for pigs twice a day with drinking water, milk (in an amount of at least 200 ml) or feed in a single dose of 5 g per 250 kg of animal weight (equivalent to 10 mg of amoxicillin / 2.5 mg of clavulanic acid per 1 kg of weight), the course of treatment is 3-5 days; - for agricultural poultry, the drug is used with drinking water (in an amount of at least 200 ml) at a daily dose of 5 g per 125 kg of poultry weight (equivalent to 20 mg of amoxicillin / 5 mg of clavulanic acid per 1 kg of poultry weight), the course of treatment is 3-5 days. The therapeutic solution is not subject to storage, its remains are disposed of. For group treatment of pigs and poultry, a therapeutic solution is prepared containing: for pigs - 40 g of the drug in 100 liters of water, for poultry - 15 g of the drug in 100 liters of water. It is taken into account that water consumption is approximately 10% of the weight of pigs and 20-25% of the weight of poultry. A more accurate calculation of the dose of the drug is made based on the actual consumption of water by animals on the farm. Make sure that the drug is completely dissolved in water. A fresh solution is prepared daily. The therapeutic solution should be the only source of drinking for pigs and poultry during the group treatment period. For dogs and cats, the drug is used twice a day in the form of a therapeutic solution, which is prepared immediately before application to the animal as follows: 5 ml of water measured with a syringe is added to the contents of 1 package (2.5 g of the drug) and thoroughly mixed. The resulting solution is injected into the animal using a syringe at the rate of 1 ml per 5 kg of animal weight (equivalent to 10 mg of amoxicillin / 2.5 mg of clavulanic acid per 1 kg of weight). The therapeutic solution is not subject to storage, its remains are disposed of. The drug is used for dogs and cats until recovery, but not more than 7 days. If an animal has chronic or intractable diseases, especially deep pyoderma in dogs, the course of treatment can be 14 days under the supervision of a veterinary specialist. It is allowed to use the drug in a therapeutic dose to animals that do not have clinical signs of the disease, but are in contact with sick animals, in order to prevent the spread of the disease. The peculiarities of the drug's action during its first use and cancellation have not been revealed.
