Antiviral drugs

PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

Umifenovir specifically suppresses various viruses (rhinovirus, adenovirus, parainfluenza virus, coronavirus).

According to the mechanism of effect, it belongs to fusion inhibitors, interacts with the hemagglutinin of the virus and prevents the merger of the lipid virus husk and cell membranes. It stimulates cellular and humoral immune responses: increases the number of lymphocytes in the blood, especially T cells, increases the number of T-helpers, normalizes the immunoregulatory index, stimulates the phagocytic function of macrophages and increases the number of natural killers (NK cells). Umifenovir in viral infections in pets reduces the duration and severity of the course of the disease and its main symptoms, and also reduces the frequency of complications associated with viral infection in the form of exacerbations of chronic bacterial diseases. It is quickly absorbed and distributed to organs and tissues. It is metabolized in the liver. About 40% of them are excreted unchanged, mainly with bile and in a small amount by the kidneys.

Ivermectin refers to semi-synthetic macrocyclic lactones obtained from the soil actinomycete Streptomyces avermitilis. Ivermectin has an antiviral effect. The probable mechanism of antiviral effect is associated with inhibition of the transport of viral proteins into the host cell nucleus. It reduces viral load, reduces the severity of the disease and the risk of further spread of infection without causing toxic damage to cells. Ivermectin is rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, reaching a maximum concentration in plasma after 4-5 hours. It is widely distributed across tissues. It is excreted almost exclusively with feces.

According to the degree of exposure to the organism, Arbimectin refers to low-risk substances. in recommended doses, it does not have a locally irritating and sensitizing effect.

DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION

Administer to the animal orally, individually, with a small amount of feed or forcibly place it on the root of the tongue.

Arbimectin is used for therapeutic purposes in the complex treatment of viral infections twice a day in the dose indicated in the table for 5-7 days, then it is used once a day for 5 days.

As the preventive care Arbimectin is administered in animals once a day for 3-4 days.

To reduce the viral load and reduce complications in cats with viral leukemia, immunodeficiency, and coronaviral enteritis, Arbimectin is recommended for administration twice a day for 10-14 days at the dose specified in the instruction for medical use.

When treating pets with infectious diseases, it is recommended to disinfect their places of detention in order to avoid re-infection.

The peculiarities of the effect during the first use of the drug or when it is canceled have not been revealed. Violations of the doses and course of use of the drug should be avoided, as this may lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. In case of skipping the next use of the drug, it should be applied as soon as possible in the same dose and according to the same scheme.
