PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

The combination Hexiderm drug with pronounced antimicrobial, antiinflammatory, and analgesic effects on the animal’s skin and mucous membranes. Chlorhexidine bigluconate is a dichlorine-containing derivative of biguanide. Provides antiseptic (antimicrobial, fungicidal, and viricidal) effect.

Chlorhexidine interacts with phosphate groups on the surface of the microbial cell, and the lipophilic groups contribute to the disaggregation of the lipoprotein membrane of bacteria, thereby violating the osmotic balance of bacterial cells, potassium and phosphorus release from them, which results in the bacterial death. The efficacy of chlorhexidine in the presence of blood and pus, various secretions, and organic substances has been clinically proven.

Benzocaine is a topical anesthetic for superficial anesthesia. It prevents the painful sensations in the endings of the sensitive nerves and conduct of pain impulses along the nerve fibers. It reduces the permeability of the cell membrane to Na+ ions, eliminates Ca2+ from receptors located on the inner surface of the membrane, blocks the formation and conduction of nerve impulses.

With external and topical application of the drug in therapeutic doses, the absorption of active substances into the blood does not occur.

According to the degree of exposure to the organism, Hexederm refers to low-risk substances.
