Gepatolux PROtect suspension for small breed dogs contains in 1 ml as active ingredients: essential phospholipids (lecithin) of vegetable origin from soy seeds - 30 mg, sodium glycyrrhizinate (with a base substance content of 20%) - 30 mg, methionine - 30 mg, taurine - 20 mg, artichoke leaf extract - 20 mg and excepients.

The drug is made in a form of brown suspension. Stratification of the suspension is allowed, which disappears when shaken.

Essential phospholipids (lecithin) belong to the class of highly specialized lipids and are esters of glycerophosphoric acid. They are the main elements in the structure of the cell membrane and mitochondria, regulate lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, improve the functional state of the liver and its detoxification function, contribute to the preservation and restoration of the structure of hepatocytes; inhibit the formation of connective tissue in the liver.

Sodium glycyrrhizinate has an anti-inflammatory effect, stimulates the production of interferons, enhances phagocytosis increases the activity of natural killer cells. It has a hepatoprotective effect due to its antioxidant and membrane-stabilizing activity. Potentiates the action of endogenous glucocorticosteroids, providing anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects in non-infectious liver lesions. In case of skin lesions, due to the membrane-stabilizing and anti-inflammatory effect, it limits the spread of the process and contributes to the regression of the disease.

Methionine is an essential amino acid needed to regulate nitrogen balance. It contains a mobile methyl group and participates in methylation processes that ensure the synthesis of choline, adrenaline, creatine and other biologically important compounds, the neutralization of toxic products, the formation of phospholipids. It inhibits the deposition of neutral fat in the liver, has a lipotropic effect (removal of excess fat from the liver). It modulates the effect of hormones and vitamins (B12, ascorbic and folic acids).

Taurine is a natural product of the metabolism of sulfur-containing amino acids: cysteine, cysteamine, methionine. Taurine has osmoregulatory and membrane-protective properties, has a positive effect on the phospholipid composition of cell membranes, normalizes the exchange of calcium and potassium ions in cells. By participating in the synthesis of the protein-respiratory chain in mitochondria, taurine regulates oxidative processes and exhibits antioxidant properties. Taurine improves metabolic processes in the heart, liver and other organs and tissues. In chronic diffuse liver diseases taurine increases blood flow and reduces the severity of cytolysis.

The pharmacological effect of artichoke leaf extract is due to the properties of the complex of biologically active substances included in its composition. Cinarin in combination with phenolic acids has a choleretic, as well as hepatoprotective effect. The ascorbic acid, carotene, vitamins B1 and B2, and inulin contained in artichoke contribute to the normalization of metabolic processes. Artichoke leaf extract also has a diuretic effect and enhances the excretion of urea.

After taking the drug inside, its active substances are well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract in the form of starting compounds or pharmacologically active hydrolysis products and are distributed in the animal's organism, penetrate into the liver, skin and other organs and tissues.

According to the degree of exposure to the organism, Gepatolux PROtect suspension refers to low-risk substances. In recommended doses, it is tolerated by dogs of different breeds and ages.

The course of use of the drug is 20-60 days, depending on the individual characteristics of the animal's body and the nature of the course of the disease. If necessary, according to the instructions of the veterinarian, the drug is resumed 10 days after the end of the previous course. In the chronic course of the disease, the courses are repeated 2-5 times a year.

Elderly animals should start treatment with the lowest recommended dose, taking into account the decrease in hepatic, renal and / or cardiac function, the presence of concomitant pathological conditions and the use of other medications. The specifics of the drug's action during its first use and cancellation have not been established.

Violations of the doses and course of use of the drug should be avoided, as this may lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. In case of missing the next use of the drug, it should be applied as soon as possible in the same dose and according to the same scheme.

Side effects and complications in animals when using the drug in accordance with this instruction, as a rule, are not observed. With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug, diarrhea and vomiting may occur. These symptoms are short-term, spontaneously disappear after the drug is discontinued and do not require the use of other medications.

Contraindication to the use of the drug is an individual increased the sensitivity of the animal to its components (including in the anamnesis).

With caution, the drug should be used in acute renal failure, urate and cystine stones.

In animals at risk of developing metabolic acidosis, long-term use of the drug is carried out with simultaneous monitoring of the acid-base balance in the blood.

is determined by the attending veterinarian based on an assessment of the ratio of benefit to the possible risk of its use. The use of the drug in animals under the age of 3 months is carried out only under the supervision of a veterinarian.

The drug Gepatolux PROtect suspension is released packaged in 75 ml in polymer vials of appropriate capacity, sealed with screw-on lids with the control of the first opening. The vials are individually packed in cardboard packs and additionally equipped with a syringe dispenser.

Store the drug in the original closed package, protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 0 to +25°C.

The shelf life under storage conditions in the original closed package is 36 months from the manufacturing date. The drug is to be used within 20 days after the first opening of the primary package amd store in a dry and dark place at a temperature of 6-8 ° C.
