Otidez forte

Otidez contains in 1 ml as active ingredients: permethrin - 0.3 mg, dexamethasone – 1 mg, benzocaine - 10 mg, gentamicin sulfate – 4 mg, fluconazole – 1.5 mg and excipients.

The drug is made in a form of a transparent colorless or light yellow liquid.

The active components of the drug have pronounced antibacterial, antifungal, acaricidal (anti-mite), antiallergic, wound-healing, and anesthetic effects.

Gentamicin sulfate is an antibiotic of the aminoglycoside group, has a wide spectrum of action against different types of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. The mechanism of action is to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial DNA.

Permethrin belongs to the group of pyrethroids. The mechanism of action of permethrin is to block the transmission of nerve impulses, which causes paralysis and death of ectoparasites.

Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticosteroid, has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and desensitizing effect.

Benzocaine is a local anesthetic for surface anesthesia. It prevents the occurrence of pain in the endings of sensitive nerves and the conduction of pain impulses along nerve fibers.

Fluconazole is an antifungal agent derived from triazole. It is a selective inhibitor of sterol synthesis in the fungal cell, has a high specificity for fungal enzymes. Fluconazole is active against dermatophytes and fungi, including the genus Candida, Trichophyton, Malassezia. Fluconazole penetrates well into the ear tissues and reaches high concentrations in them.

With local and external use, the drug penetrates well into tissues and quickly reaches a stable therapeutic level in them. After treatment, the drug is practically not absorbed into the systemic circulation and does not have a pronounced negative effect on other processes of the system in the animal's organism.

According to the degree of exposure to the organism, refers to low-risk substances, in recommended doses, it does not have a locally irritating and sensitizing effect.

When using the drug, it should be avoided getting into the eyes of animals.

Before use, the dropper bottle with Otidez forte should be thoroughly shaken. Carry out hygienic treatment, cleaning the auricles from surface crusts and scabs with a swab moistened with a small amount of the drug. For therapeutic purposes in acute and chronic otitis of bacterial, fungal and allergic etiology, the drug is instilled in both ears twice a day for 5-10 days.

Instill the drug into each ear: in cats, fur animals, and small breed dogs up to 3 kg – 1-3 drops, medium breed dogs from 10 to 20 kg – 4 drops, large breed dogs from 20 kg – 5-6 drops twice a day; then massage the base of the ear slightly. The treatment duration is 5-10 days, then as prescribed by a veterinarian.

For the ear tick treatment: instill Otidez forte with an interval of 5-7 days, after hygienic procedures by cleaning the ears from the surface crusts and scabs. Repeat the treatment after 14 days, if necessary,

The drug must be injected into both ears, even in cases of otodectosis of only one ear.

In the treatment of superficial dermatitis of the outer ear and ear canal in animals, Otidez forte should be applied with a swab moistened with a small amount of the drug 2-3 times a day to the affected area (7-10 days, but no more than 14 days).

If one or more doses of the drug are missed, the course of use should be resumed as soon as possible in the prescribed dosages.

It is allowed to use the drug Otidez forte in conjunction with other etiotropic and pathogenetic drugs.

The peculiarities of the drug's action during its first use and cancellation have not been established.

When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications are not observed. With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug and the manifestation of allergic reactions, its use is discontinued, if necessary, symptomatic therapy with antihistamines is carried out.

Do not use Otidez forte with perforation of the tympanic membrane and hypersensitivity to the components of the drug (including in the anamnesis).

Symptoms of overdose in animals were not detected.

The use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is carried out only under the supervision of a veterinarian.

Otidez forte should not be used simultaneously with other insecticidal, antifungal and antibacterial drugs for auricular use.

The drug Otidez is not intended for use by food-producing animals.

When using a product, the general rules of personal hygiene and safety provided for when using drugs should be observed. Smoking, drinking and eating are prohibited during the usage. Empty packaging from under the drug is prohibited to be used for household purposes, it is subject to disposal with household waste.

In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water.

People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with it. The drug Otidez is released packaged in 15 ml in polymer dropper bottles, hermetically sealed with screw-on lids with the control of the first opening. Dropper bottles are packed in individual cardboard packs. Each consumer package is provided with instructions for use.

Store the drug in the original closed package, protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 0 to +25°C.

It is released without a prescription from a veterinarian.

The shelf life under storage conditions in the original closed package is 24 months from the manufacturing date. The drug is to be used within 25 days after the first opening of the primary package.

Do not use after the expiration date.
