Oxybactocid powder contains as active ingredients: oxytetracycline hydrochloride – 80%, gentamicin sulfate – 5 % and excipients.

The drug is made in the form of yellow to light brown powder.

Pharmacotherapeutic group of a medicinal product for veterinary use: tetracyclines in combinations.

Oxytetracycline hydrochloride and gentamicin sulfate, which are part of the drug, have a wide range of bacteriostatic and bactericidal action against bees’ foulbrood disease pathogens.

According to the degree of exposure to the organism, Oxybactocid powder refers to low-risk substances, in recommended doses, it does not have a locally irritating and sensitizing effect.

Oxybactocid powder is not toxic to bees, in recommended doses it does not adversely affect the vital activity and productivity of colonies.

Oxybactocid powder is used for the treatment and prevention of bees’ foulbrood diseases.

Do not use the drug less than 14 days before the start of the major honey collection to avoid the penetration of the drug components into marketable honey.

When using a product, the general rules of personal hygiene and safety provided for when using drugs should be observed. Empty packaging from under the drug is prohibited to be used for household purposes, it is subject to disposal with household waste.

In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water.

People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with it. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the components of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (take the instructions for use or label with you).

Before applying the drug in a dysfunctional apiary, examine all bee colonies, remove frames with severely affected brood, and place sick colonies onto clean foundation and into disinfected hives. Reduce and insulate nests of sick colonies, and replace queens, if required.

In spring, feed the drug to bees with candy or sugar syrup; in warm weather, spray the bees with a solution containing the drug, directly on the honeycombs after shaking off the bees, at the rate of 0.5 g of the drug per bee colony containing 10 beeways. To prepare candy with a drug, add the drug to the honey-sugar dough (candy) at the rate of 5 g of the drug per 5 kg of candy and feed it to the bees at the rate of 0.5 kg per bee colony.

To prepare a syrup with a drug, add 5 g of the drug to 50 ml of warm water, mix it with 10 liters of sugar syrup prepared in a 1 : 1 ratio and feed it to bees in clean feeders at the rate of 100 ml per frame with bees.

To prepare a solution with a drug, first dissolve 5 g of the drug in a small amount of warm water, and then add it to 1.5 liters of warm sugar syrup prepared in a ratio of 1 : 4, shake the bees off and spray the honeycombs with affected brood evenly on both sides at the rate of 10–15 ml per frame.

Treat the bees 3–4 times with an interval of 4-5 days until the clinical signs of the disease disappear. Treat all affected colonies in the apiary. Simultaneously with the treatment of colonies, disinfect the hives, honeycombs, and working equipment according to the instructions for disinfection in apiaries. Burn the dead bees and beehive debris.

Adverse reactions and complications when using the drug in accordance with the instructions for use, as a rule, are not observed.

Symptoms of drug overdose in bees have not been established.

Oxybactocide powder should not be used in conjunction with other drugs of bacteriostatic and bactericidal action.

The specifics of the drug's action at the first intake or when it is canceled have not been established.

NB! Avoid the prescribed dosage and prescribed administration pattern violations, as this may lead to suboptimal effectiveness. If the next drug dose is missed, it should be administered as soon as possible in the same dose, according to the same pattern.

Honey is allowed to be used for food purposes no earlier than 14 days after the end of the use of the drug in accordance with this instruction.

Oxybactocid powder is produced packaged, 5 g into hermetically sealed bags of the appropriate capacity made of metallized film.

Store the drug in the original unopened container, in a place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 0 to +25 °C.

Keep the drug out of reach of children. Use immediately after opening the package.

It is released without a prescription from a veterinarian.

The unused drug is disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.

The drug shelf life, subject to compliance with storage conditions in the original unopened container, is 3 years from the date of manufacture. Do not use the drug after the expiration date.
