Desacid forte

Desacid forte contains in 1 ml as active ingredients: gentamicin sulfate 4 mg, chloramphenicol 2.5 mg, succinic acid 1 mg and excipients.

The drug is made in a form of a transparent colorless liquid.

Eye drops and intranasal.

Aminoglycosides in combinations.

Desacid forte has an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and regenerating effect on the tissues of the eye and nose of the animal.

Gentamicin sulfate is an antibiotic of the aminoglycoside group and has a wide spectrum of action against different types of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Proteus spp. (indole-positive and indole-negative), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp., Serratia spp., Citrobacter spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp. and Staphylococcus spp., Neisserae Haemophilus, Serratia, Yersinia, Rickettsia (including penicillin and methicillin-resistant strains), as well as the Spirochitaceae family and some large viruses.

The mechanism of effect is to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial DNA.

Chloramphenicol is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, active against strains resistant to penicillin, streptomycin, sulfonamides. It acts bacteriostatically. The mechanism of antibacterial action of chloramphenicol is associated with a violation of the synthesis of proteins of microorganisms.

Succinic acid is a regulator of tissue metabolism, has an anti-inflammatory effect, stimulates cellular respiration, neutralizes free radicals, and has a powerful antitoxic property.

The composition of the salts included in the preparation ensures the sanitation of the eye from the waste products of microorganisms and inflammation, promotes the regeneration of affected tissues.

Desacid forte, when instilled into the conjunctival and intranasal, penetrates well into all tissues of the eye and nose, quickly reaches a stable therapeutic level in them.

According to the degree of exposure to the organism, Desacid forte refers to low-risk substances. In recommended doses, it does not have a locally irritating and sensitizing effect.

Before use, the bottle with the drug should be thoroughly shaken. Next, make hygienic treatment of the area around the eyes and nose with a cotton swab moistened with a small amount of the drug.

For the treatment of acute and chronic bacterial diseases of the eyes and nose, to eliminate secondary bacterial microflora in the treatment of viral diseases, Desacid is instilled into the conjunctival cavity, both eyes, or in the nose, in both nasal passages, 3-4 times a day for 5-10 days in the doses indicated in the table:

To sanitize and disinfect wounds of the conjunctiva, eyelids and nose, treatment is carried out once a day with a sterile gauze cloth moistened with a drug.

For the prevention and treatment of bacterial infections of the eyes and nose after injuries or ingestion of foreign bodies and other irritating particles, the drug is instilled into the conjunctival cavity or nasal passages in therapeutic doses 4 times a day for 3 days.

For the prevention and treatment of bacterial infections of the eyes and nose before and after surgical interventions, the drug is used in therapeutic doses 3 times a day for 3-5 days.

In the treatment of superficial dermatitis of the area around the eyes and nose of bacterial etiology in animals, the affected surface is treated with a swab moistened with a small amount of the drug, 2-3 times a day, used until clinical recovery.

Violations of the use of the drug Desacid forte should be avoided, as this may lead to a decrease in effectiveness. If one or more doses of the drug are missed, the course of use should be resumed as soon as possible in the prescribed dosages.

The peculiarities of the drug's effect during the first application and cancellation have not been established.

When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complicationsare not observed. In case of individual intolerance to the components of the drug and the manifestation of allergic reactions, the use of the drug should be discontinued and symptomatic therapy with antihistamines should be carried out in accordance with the instructions for use.

Contraindications:

Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug (including in the anamnesis).

Symptoms of overdose in animals were not detected.

Use during pregnancy and lactation:

It is carried out only under the supervision of a veterinarian.

The drug should not be prescribed simultaneously with other antibacterial eye drops. There is no information about the incompatibility of Desacid forte with drugs of other pharmacotherapeutic groups and feed additives.

The safety of using the drug in the offspring of animals has not been established. The drug is used for animals up to 1 year only under the supervision of a veterinarian. The drug is not intended for use by productive animals.

Personal prevention measures:

When using a product, the general rules of personal hygiene and safety provided for when using drugs should be observed. Smoking, drinking and eating are prohibited during the usage. At the end, wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap.

People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with it. In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the components of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (take the instructions for use or label with you).

Empty packaging from under the drug is prohibited to be used for household purposes, it is subject to disposal with household waste.

The unused drug is disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.

The drug Desacid is produced packaged in 10 ml in polymer dropper bottles, hermetically sealed with screw-on lids with the control of the first opening, packed in individual cardboard packs. Each consumer package is provided with instructions for use.

Store the drug in the original closed package, protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 0 to +25°C.

The shelf life under storage conditions is 36 months. The shelf life after opening the bottle is 25 days.

Do not use after the expiration date. Keep out of reach of children!
