PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

The active components of the Zoocard tablets have antihypertensive, vasodilating and cardioprotective effects.

Ramipril is a hypotensive agent, an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor. The mechanism of antihypertensive action is associated with competitive inhibition of ACE activity, which leads to a decrease in the rate of conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, which is a powerful vasoconstrictor. It reduces pressure in the pulmonary capillaries and resistance in the pulmonary vessels; increases the minute volume of the heart and endurance to the load. In animals with signs of chronic heart failure, after myocardial infarction, ramipril reduces the risk of sudden death and progression of heart failure. Significantly it reduces the frequency of myocardial infarction and stroke in animals. It lowers the total vascular peripheral resistance, slows down the occurrence and progression of chronic heart failure, reduces the overall mortality of animals. It has an antihypertensive effect without causing compensatory tachycardia. The effectiveness of ramipril does not depend on the sex, age and body weight of the animal. It significantly reduces the existing microalbuminuria and the risk of developing nephropathy. These effects are observed in animals with both elevated and normal blood pressure. The hypotensive effect develops after about 1-2 hours, reaches a maximum within 3-6 hours, lasts at least 24 hours after administration. L-carnitine is an amino acid that is of great importance in the process of myocardial energy metabolism and is necessary to maintain normal cardiac activity in animals. L-carnitine transports high-molecular fatty acids to the mitochondria, and is also necessary for betaoxidation and ATP synthesis, due to which the heart receives most of the required energy. Increases endurance under high physical exertion, and also has a regenerating and antihypoxic effect.

Bee royal jelly is a biogenic stimulant that is necessary for disorders of the blood supply to the heart, accompanied by painful attacks of angina pectoris, heaviness in the cardiac region in heart failure. It promotes normalization of metabolism, increased immunity and rapid recovery of the body.

After ingestion, 50-60% of the drug is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Eating does not slow down absorption. The maximum concentration in the blood serum is reached after 1-4 hours.

According to the degree of exposure to the organism, Zoocard tablets refers to low-risk substances.

Zoocard is a complex cardio protector for the treatment of congestion caused by chronic heart failure, arterial hypertension, kidney failure, and cardiomyopathies of various nature. Zoocard is also prescribed to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke; to increase exercise tolerance and survival in animals with congenital heart disorders.

The complex composition of Zoocard has hypotensive, antioxidant, antihypoxic, vessel-strengthening, vasodilating, and cardioprotective effects in animals.

DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION

Zoocard tablets are applied to the animal orally (inside), individually, whole or in a crushed form at a dose of 1 tablet per 10 kg of weight. The drug is given on an empty stomach, forcibly on the root of the tongue once a day for 21 - 28 days, depending on the condition of the animal and the individual characteristics of the organism. The duration of the course is determined by the veterinarian individually for each animal. Abrupt withdrawal of the drug does not lead to a rapid increase in blood pressure. If one or more doses of the drug are missed, its use is resumed in the same doses and according to the same scheme. The specifics of the drug's action at the first intake and cancellation have not been established.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

In case of individual intolerance to the components of the drug and the manifestation of allergic reactions, the use of the drug should be discontinued and symptomatic therapy should be carried out.

Zoocard tablets can be used in combination with furosemide in cases where there is a need for additional enhancement of diuresis. In such situations, the dose of a diuretic drug can be reduced, since the diuretic effect is enhanced and maintained at the desired level due to the action of the drug.

Symptoms of overdose in animals were not detected. In rare cases, there are signs of hypotension, manifested in the form of lethargy, apathy and ataxia.

The drug is not intended for use to food-producing animals. The possibility of using the drug in animals up to a year has not been established.

The use of an ACE inhibitor in animals with symptoms of hypovolemia and dehydration can lead to the development of acute hypotension. In such cases, it is necessary to restore the water-salt balance in the animal's body and postpone the use of the drug Zoocard until the condition stabilizes. The use of the drug to animals with impaired renal function is carried out under the constant supervision of a veterinarian.
