Virusan contains in 1 g as active ingredients: rimantadine (in the form of hydrochloride) – 0.5%, ascorbic acid – 12.5% and excipients
The drug is made in a form of a homogeneous fine powder of light brown color with the smell of garlic.
Virusan belong to the group of antiviral drugs for veterinary use.
Rimantadine hydrochloride, which is part of Virusan®, inhibits the release of viral particles from cells, promotes their death, exerting an antiviral effect, and ascorbic acid stimulates the growth, development and productivity of bees, increasing their resistance to adverse environmental factors.
According to the degree of exposure to the organism, Virusan refers to low-risk substances, in recommended doses, it does not have a locally irritating and sensitizing effect.
Virusan is not toxic to bees, in recommended doses it does not adversely affect the vital activity and productivity of colonies.
Virusan is intended for the prevention and treatment of viral diseases of bees (acute and chronic paralysis, wing deformity virus, sac brood virus), as well as to stimulate growth, development and increase resistance to adverse environmental factors.
When using a product, the general rules of personal hygiene and safety provided for when using drugs should be observed. Smoking, drinking and eating are prohibited during the usage. Empty packaging from under the drug is prohibited to be used for household purposes, it is subject to disposal with household waste.
In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water.
People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with it. Administer Virusan to bees mixed with sugar syrup in spring (in April-May) before the major honey collection and at the end of summer (in August-September) after the honey extraction. Dissolve the drug in warm (35–40 °C) sugar syrup, prepared in a ratio of 1 : 1, at the rate of 40 g per 10 l of syrup. Pour the prepared syrup into the upper hive feeders at the rate of 1 liter of syrup per colony and administer it 2–3 times with an interval of 2–3 days.
Adverse reactions and complications when using the drug in accordance with the instructions for use, as a rule, are not observed.
Symptoms of drug overdose in bees have not been established.
The specifics of the drug's action at the first intake or when it is canceled have not been established.
NB! Avoid the prescribed dosage and prescribed administration pattern violations, as this may lead to suboptimal effectiveness. If the next drug dose is missed, it should be administered as soon as possible in the same dose, according to the same pattern.
Use the honey collected from treated colonies for food without restrictions.

The unused drug is disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
The product shelf life, subject to compliance with storage conditions in the original unopened container, is 2 years from the date of manufacture. Do not use after the expiration date.
