COMPOSITION AND FORM OF RELEASE

Trade name of the drug: Nosemacid.

International nonproprietary name: oxytetracycline, metronidazole.

Available in powder form

Nosemacid contains as active ingredients: oxytetracycline hydrochloride – 60%, metronidazole – 30 % and excipients

Nosemacid is made in a form of a powder from yellow to light brown in color.

PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

Pharmacotherapeutic group of a medicinal product for veterinary use: antiprotozoal agents in combinations.

Oxytetracycline hydrochloride and metronidazole, which are part of the drug, have a wide spectrum of action against the pathogens of protozoal infections (Nozema apis) and obligate aerobic infections.

According to the degree of exposure to the organism, Nosemacid refers to low-risk substances, in recommended doses, it does not have a locally irritating and sensitizing effect.

Nosemacid is not toxic to bees, in recommended doses it does not adversely affect the vital activity and productivity of colonies.

DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION

Apply Nosemacid to bees in spring before the major honey collection and at the end of summer, after the honey extraction.

Do not use the drug less than 30 days before the start of the major honey collection to avoid the penetration of the drug components into marketable honey.

Apply Nosemacid in spring before the major honey collection or in summer, after the marketable honey extraction.

Feed the drug to bees with candy or sugar syrup at the rate of 0.25 g per bee colony containing 8–10 beeways. In early spring (before the play flight), add Nosemacid to honey-sugar dough (candy) at the rate of 5.0 g of the drug per 10 kg of candy and feed it to the bees at the rate of 0.5 kg per bee colony. After the spring play flight, administer Nosemacid with sugar syrup. Dissolve 5.0 g of the drug in 50 ml of warm water and mix it thoroughly with 20 liters of sugar syrup prepared in a ratio of 1 : 1.

Feed the drug syrup to bees twice with an interval of 5 days, pouring it into the upper feeders at the rate of 100 ml per frame with bees.

In autumn, administer this product in the same dosage once for the prevention of nosematosis.

Simultaneously with the treatment of bees, disinfect the hives, honeycombs and inventory, replacing the queens with fertile, healthy ones, if possible.

Honey is allowed to be used for food purposes no earlier than 30 days after the end of the use of the drug in accordance with this instruction.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

When using a product, the general rules of personal hygiene and safety provided for when using drugs should be observed. Smoking, drinking and eating are prohibited during the usage. Empty packaging from under the drug is prohibited to be used for household purposes, it is subject to disposal with household waste.

In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water.

People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with it. Nosemacid should not be used in conjunction with other medications intended for the treatment of bee nosematosis.

The specifics of the drug's action at the first intake or when it is canceled have not been established.

NB! Avoid the prescribed dosage and prescribed administration pattern violations, as this may lead to suboptimal effectiveness. If the next drug dose is missed, it should be administered as soon as possible in the same dose, according to the same pattern.

STORAGE CONDITIONS

Store the drug in the original unopened container, in a place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 0 to +25 °C.

Keep out of reach of children. Use immediately after opening the package.

It is released without a prescription from a veterinarian.

The unused drug is disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.

SHELF LIFE

The drug shelf life, subject to compliance with storage conditions in the original unopened container, is 3 years from the date of manufacture. Do not use the drug after the expiration date.
