Imidacloprid is a neonicotinoid, the mechanism of action of which is to block the activity of the protein receptors of the nerve cells of the parasite, which leads to the impossibility of conducting a nerve impulse and further to paralysis and death.
Fipronil is an insectoacaricide of the phenylpyrazole group, its mechanism of action consists in blocking GABA-dependent ectoparasite receptors, disruption of nerve impulse transmission, which leads to paralysis and death of insects and ticks.
When used together, imidacloprid enhances the insecticidal effect of fipronil.
When applying the drug to the skin, imidacloprid and fipronil are practically not absorbed into the systemic bloodstream, accumulate in the epidermis, hair follicles, sebaceous glands and have a long-term contact insecticidal effect.
