Fungivet cream

Fungivet cream contains in 1 g as active ingredients: terbinafine hydrochloride 10 mg, dexamethasone 1 mg, propolis extract 40 mg, and excipients.

Fungivet cream is made in a form of a a homogeneous creamy beige mass with a specific smell.

Fungivet cream has a wide spectrum of antifungal activity, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing effect on the skin of the animal.

Terbinafine hydrochloride belongs to the group of allylamines, has a wide spectrum of antifungal action. In low concentrations, it has fungicidal activity against Trichophyton dermatophytes (including Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton tonsurans, Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichophyton violaceum), as well as Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum; yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida (mainly Candida albicans); pathogen of multicolored lichen (Malassezia furfur). The mechanism of action is the suppression of squalene oxidase in the cell membrane of the fungus. This leads to a deficiency of ergosterol and intracellular accumulation of squalene, which causes the death of the pathogen cell. Activity against yeast fungi, depending on the species, can be fungicidal or fungistatic. Terbinafine hydrochloride penetrates deeply and accumulates in the surface layer of the skin, which provides a long-lasting therapeutic effect. Dexamethasone refers to synthetic glucocorticosteroids. The mechanism of action of dexamethasone is to suppress the activity of various tissue–destroying enzymes - proteases and nucleases, matrix metalloproteinases, hyaluronidase, phospholipase, inhibition of the synthesis of prostaglandins, kinins, leukotrienes and other inflammatory mediators from arachidonic acid. It has an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effect. Propolis extract has a pronounced bactericidal, bacteriostatic (suppresses activity and destroys a wide range of microorganisms), antifungal, wound healing and soothing effect on the skin of the animal.

Fungivet cream quickly penetrates through the dermal layer of the skin and concentrates in the lipophilic stratum corneum and in the secretion of sebaceous glands, which leads to the creation of its high concentrations in hair follicles, hair and skin. When applied topically, absorption is not high, has a slight systemic effect.

According to the degree of exposure to the organism, Fungivet cream refers to low-risk substances, in recommended doses, it does not have a locally irritating and sensitizing effect. In case of contact with the eyes, it causes mild irritation. The drug is used in animals from 3 weeks of age.

Apply Fungivet as a thin layer once a day on the previously cleaned and dried affected surface of the animal’s skin and coat by gently rubbing in the direction from the periphery to the center, capturing up to 1 cm of the healthy border skin. After the treatment, it is necessary to take measures to prevent the drug from being licked by animals (15-20 minutes) to increase the time of its contact with the skin. The animal should not be washed within 24 hours after applying the drug. The treatment duration is 10-15 days until the clinical recovery confirmed by the microscopic examination of the skin scrapings

The duration of the treatment depends on the indications and severity of the course of the disease. If after 3 weeks of treatment there is no improvement in the condition, it is necessary to re-determine the causative agent of the disease and its sensitivity to the drug.

The use of the drug does not exclude the use of other etiotropic and pathogenetic drugs. In case of skipping the next treatment, the use of the drug is resumed at the same dose, according to the same scheme.

The peculiarities of the drug's action during the first application and cancellation have not been established.

When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications are not established. With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug, its use should be discontinued.

Contraindications:

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug (including in the anamnesis). Pregnancy and lactation. Application to animals younger than 3 weeks of age.

Fungivet Cream should not be used simultaneously with other topical medications containing corticosteroid hormones.

Symptoms of overdose in animals are not detected.

The drug is not intended for use by food-producing animals.

When using a product, the general rules of personal hygiene and safety provided for when using drugs should be observed. Smoking, drinking and eating are prohibited during the usage. Empty packaging from under the drug is prohibited to be used for household purposes, it is subject to disposal with household waste.

In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water.

People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with it. In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the components of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (take the instructions for use or label with you).

Empty bottles are disposed of with household waste.

The unused drug is disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.

Do not use empty vials for household purposes. Use the drug only for its intended purpose.

The drug is produced packaged in 100 g polymer vials packed in cardboard packs complete with instructions for use.

Store the drug in the original closed package, protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 0 to +25°C.

The shelf life under storage conditions in the original closed package is 24 months from the manufacturing date. Do not use after the expiration date.
