Fungivet (10 tablets)
Fungivet in tablets is used in the treatment of fungal diseases of the skin, coat, claws, and mucous membranes caused by dermatophytes: trichophytosis, microsporia, and candidiasis caused by yeast-like fungi: Malassezia furfur and Candida albicans.
Fungivet contains in 1 tablet as active ingredients: terbinafine hydrochloride 200 mg and excipients.
The drug is made in a form of a round-shaped tablet from white to light brown.

The drug Fungivet tablets has a wide range of antifungal effects on the skin and hair and mucous membranes of animals (dogs and cats).
Terbinafine hydrochloride belongs to the group of allylamines, has a wide spectrum of antifungal action. In low concentrations, it has fungicidal activity against Trichophyton dermatophytes (including Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton tonsurans, Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichophyton violaceum), as well as Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum; yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida (mainly Candida albicans); pathogen of multicolored lichen (Malassezia furfur). The mechanism of action is the suppression of squalene oxidase in the cell membrane of the fungus. This leads to a deficiency of ergosterol and intra-cellular accumulation of squalene, which causes the death of the pathogen cell. Activity against yeast fungi, depending on the species, can be fungicidal or fungistatic. Terbinafine hydrochloride penetrates deeply and accumulates in the surface layer of the skin, which provides a long-lasting therapeutic effect.
With oral administration of the drug, the active substances are rapidly absorbed from the digestive tract. Partial metabolism occurs in the liver. The highest concentration of the drug in the blood is observed 2 hours after taking it. About 99% of the active substances in the blood are bound to plasma proteins. The onycho- and epidermotropicity of the drug is noted, i.e. its greatest amount accumulates in the skin and hair and claws, as well as in subcutaneous tissue, providing optimal concentration for therapeutic effect.
Biotransformation of the drug in the body leads to the formation of inactive metabolites, which are excreted mainly in the urine (71%), (22% with feces). The half-life is about 30 hours.
According to the degree of exposure to the organism, refers to moderately dangerous substances, in recommended doses, it does not have a locally irritating and sensitizing effect.
Administer the drug to cats and dogs individually, once a day at a dose of 1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight, orally, forcibly place into the protected cheek area or on the root of the tongue with a small amount of favorite food. The treatment duration is 3-6 weeks, depending on the indications and disease severity.
When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications are not observed. With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug, its use should be discontinued. With caution, the drug should be prescribed to animals with chronic renal insufficiency, hematopoiesis disorders, endocrine diseases, tumors, systemic and cutaneous lupus. If the following symptoms appear: nausea, loss of appetite, jaundice, darkening of urine, weakness, light feces, the drug should be discontinued.
Contraindications to the use of the drug are: hypersensitivity to its components (including in the anamnesis). Pregnancy and lactation. Acute and chronic liver diseases. The safety of use for animals up to 1 year has not been studied and, if necessary, the drug is prescribed only under the supervision of a veterinarian.
In case of overdose in animals, there may be: rash, nausea, vomiting, pain in the epigastric region, frequent urination. It is important to carry out gastric lavage, and also practice taking activated charcoal, symptomatic treatment.
Do not use the drug Fungivet tablets simultaneously with tricyclic antidepressants, selective inhibitors, antiarrhythmic drugs, monoamine oxidase inhibitors of type B, as well as blockers of &-adrenergic receptors.
Terbinafine hydrochloride can weaken the effect of cyclosporine and reduce its concentration.
The drug Fungivet tablets is not intended for use by food-producing animals.
When using a product, the general rules of personal hygiene and safety provided for when using drugs should be observed. Smoking, drinking and eating are prohibited during the usage. Empty packaging from under the drug is prohibited to be used for household purposes, it is subject to disposal with household waste.
At the end, wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap. People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with it. In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the components of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (take the instructions for use or label with you).
The unused drug is disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
The drug is produced packaged in 10 tablets in contour blisters, packed in contour blisters, packed in cardboard packs complete with instructions for use.
Store the drug in the original closed package, protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 0 to +25°C.

The shelf life under storage conditions in the original closed package is 36 months from the manufacturing date. Do not use after the expiration date.
