Fenpraz suspension for small breed dogs

Fenpraz suspension contains in 1 ml per 2 kg as active ingredients: pyrantel pamoate 28 mg, praziquantel 10 mg, fenbendazole 3 mg and excepients.

The drug is made in a form of light yellow suspension. Stratification of the suspension is allowed, which disappears after stirring.

The combination of praziquantel, pyrantel pamoate and fenbendazole, which are part of the drug, has a wide spectrum of anthelmintic action against round and ribbon helminths, as well as protozoa of the genus giardia, parasitic in dogs and cats, including Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Trihuris vulpis, Echinococcus multilocularis , Echinococcus granulosis, Taenia spp., Dipylidium caninum, Multiceps multiceps, Mesocestoides spp., Giardia spp.

Pyrantel pamoate is a compound of the pyrimidine group, its mechanism of action is based on the blockade of the transmission of nerve impulses in neuromuscular synapses by depolarization of muscle cell membranes, which causes paralysis of the muscular system of nematodes. Pyrantel is poorly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, which ensures its prolonged effect on helminths in the gastrointestinal tract. It is excreted from the body mainly unchanged with faeces (93%).

Praziquantel is a compound of the pyrazinisoquinoline group, its mechanism of action is based on inducing the breakdown of tegument and inhibition of fumarate reductase, persistent depolarization of helminth muscle cells, violation of energy metabolism, which causes paralysis and death of nematodes and cestodes and promotes their excretion from the gastrointestinal tract. Praziquantel is rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, reaching a maximum concentration in blood plasma after 1-3 hours, reversibly binds to serum proteins (70-80%), is partially metabolized in the liver, is re-secreted into the intestine, is excreted mainly in urine (up to 80%) within 24 hours.

Fenbendazole is a compound of the benzimidazole group, has a wide spectrum of nematodocidal and cestodocidal action, is active against adult forms, larvae and eggs of nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract and cestodes. The mechanism of action of fenbendazole is the destruction of microchannels in the intestinal cells of helminths and disruption of energy processes, which leads to the death of parasites. After oral administration, fenbendazole is easily absorbed in the intestine and distributed in the organs and tissues of the animal, is excreted from the body both in unchanged form and in the form of metabolites, mainly with bile and partially with urine, in lactating animals - also with milk.

According to the degree of exposure to the organism, Fenpraz suspension refers to low-risk substances, in recommended doses, it is well tolerated by dogs and cats of different breeds and ages.

The drug Fenpraz suspension is administered to animals orally once, individually, in the morning in the following doses: large breeed dogs in a dose of 1 ml per 2 kg of animal weight with a small amount of feed or directly inside the cheek area using a syringe dispenser.

Before each use, the bottle with the drug should be thoroughly shaken.

When deworming animals weighing less than 0.5 kg, 0.5 ml of boiled water is added to the measured dose of the suspension immediately before use, thoroughly shaken and injected into the animal.

For therapeutic purposes with nematodoses and cestodoses, animals are dewormed according to indications, for preventive purposes - quarterly.

For the treatment of giardiasis, the drug is used once a day for 3 days.

Before vaccination or mating, the drug is used 10-14 days and 10 days before the expected delivery of animals.

Before using the drug, a preliminary fasting diet and the use of laxatives are not required. When deworming an animal, it is recommended to disinfect and disinfect the places where animals are kept in order to avoid re-infection.

The peculiarities of the drug's action at the first intake or at its cancellation were not revealed.

Violations of the doses and course of use of the drug should be avoided, as this may lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. In case of missing the next use of the drug, it should be applied as soon as possible in the same dose and according to the same scheme.

Side effects and complications when using the drug in accordance with this instruction, as a rule, are not observed. Contraindication to the use of the drug is an individual hypersensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug (including in the anamnesis). The drug should not be used by emaciated, infected with infectious diseases and recovering animals.

The possibility of using the drug Fenpraz suspension to females during pregnancy and feeding of the offspring is determined by the attending veterinarian on the basis of an assessment of the ratio of benefit and possible risk of its use. Deworming is not allowed in the first half of pregnancy and earlier than 2-3 weeks after birth, as well as kittens younger than 3 weeks of age.

With an overdose of the drug, depression, refusal of food, excessive salivation, diarrhea and vomiting may occur. In this case, symptomatic therapy is performed.

The drug should not be used simultaneously with piperazine, levamizole and cholinesterase inhibitors, due to the possible mutual increase in toxicity.

The drug Fenpraz suspension is not intended for use by food-producing animals.

Store the drug in the original closed package, protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 0 to +25°C. After the first opening of the bottle - no more than 3 weeks in a dark place at a temperature of 6-8 ° C.

The shelf life under storage conditions in the original closed package is 3 years from the manufacturing date.

Do not use after the expiration date. The unused drug is disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
