PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics Fipronil is an insectoacaricide of the phenylpyrazole group, the mechanism of its contact action consists in blocking GABA-dependent arthropod receptors, impaired transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of ectoparasites. S-metoprene is an analogue of juvenile hormone, a growth regulator of insects; disrupting the synthesis of chitin, causes anomalies in the development of insects at the egg and larval stages, prevents the appearance of mature insects on animals and in places where they are kept.

The drug Anti-ticks is active against:

- ixodic ticks (all phases of development): Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Dermacentor variabilis, Amblyomma americanum, Ixodes holocyclus, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes ricinus, Haemaphysalis flava, Haemaphysalis campanulata, Haemaphysalis leachi;

- fleas (mature and preimaginal phases of development) Ctenocephalides spp.;

- Trichodectidae Felicola subrostratus, Trichodectes canis and lice;

- Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. After application to the skin, the active substances of the drug are gradually distributed over the entire surface of the animal's body for 24 hours, practically not absorbed into the systemic bloodstream, accumulate in the epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands, have a long-term contact effect, providing protection of the animal from ectoparasites.

A single treatment of the animal with the drug ensures the destruction of fleas and ticks within 24 and 48 hours, respectively. The protective effect of the drug against ixodic ticks continues in cats, dogs and ferrets for up to 4 weeks; against sexually mature and preimaginal phases of insect development – in cats and ferrets up to 6 weeks, in dogs – 4-12 weeks.

According to the degree of exposure to the organism, The drug Anti-ticksbelongs to moderately dangerous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), when applied to the skin in the recommended doses, it does not have a locally irritating, resorptive-toxic, embryotoxic and teratogenic effect, when it gets into the eyes it causes mild irritation. The drug is toxic to rabbits, bees, as well as fish and other aquatic organisms.
